We're improving and updating the checkride system. As part of this transition, some of the previous procedures have been phased out, and the new system is not yet fully automated. Thank you for your attention and cooperation!
Dear Turkish Virtual Checkride Candidates,
The "
Checkride" event will be held on
Sunday, May 25, 2025, from 05:00Z to 20:00Z. Below, you will find the detailed guidelines and principles for this checkride. This comprehensive guide ensures you fully understand the steps and expectations throughout the evaluation process.
Checkride Application Process and Key Details
Designated Routes and Airports:
- The designated routes for the Checkride are
LTAC-LTCD and LTAC-LTCI.
- F/O Checkride route:
LTAC-LTCD
- Captain Checkride route:
LTAC-LTCI
- These airports have been chosen to facilitate flight safety and to evaluate procedural adherence. Candidates must plan their flights accordingly.
Flight Timing and Independent Participation:
- Candidates must conduct their flights between 05:00Z and 20:00Z.
- During this time, you are expected to complete your flight independently, without direct instructions from others, but in coordination with ATC if ATC sectors are open.
- All flight procedures must be executed according to ATC directives. Being well-prepared is essential since the examiner need not be repeatedly consulted during the flight.
Completion of Flights:
- After landing at the destination airport, proceed to an appropriate gate, shut down your engines, and submit your FDR (Flight Data Recorder) report to us.
Success and Evaluation Process:
- You must achieve a minimum score of 50% or higher from your flight to succeed during the application phase. (
The system will automatically evaluate this process).
- The Check Captain will determine the remaining 50% of the score. (
This process will be evaluated by the check captain, who will monitor your flight from start to finish in real-time and afterwards, based on flight performance criteria).
- Candidates who have attended at least one of the last two events will be eligible for the +15 evaluation score provided to event participants.
- You will be promoted to the next rank upon completion and gain access to international flights.
- Any subsequent attempt will not be considered for evaluation in the event of a crash during the checkride flight. However, if the initial flight is disrupted due to simulator or hardware-related issues, a second flight may be conducted only once, and this flight will be considered valid for evaluation.
- Checkride participants must conduct their flights online via VATSIM from start to finish.
- The Checkride system is changing and is not yet fully automated in this checkride. If the flight is interrupted due to a hardware or simulator-related issue during the checkride, the situation must be reported by opening a Discord ticket. Otherwise, any second attempt will not be considered valid.
Failure and Reattempts:
- If you fail the application phase, you will be eliminated from this Checkride process. However, you will have the opportunity to participate in a future Checkride event.
Participation in the Verbal Exam:
- The oral exam process has been discontinued, and we are transitioning to a new checkride system. We are also working on a system that will fully automate the checkrides.
New Changes at Checkride Procedure:
- Due to scheduling conflicts, we will no longer restrict checkrides to specific hours to accommodate our pilots who cannot attend checkrides. Instead, checkrides will be scheduled on a designated day, during which pilots will be expected to complete the required flight at a time that suits them. With this change, we aim to offer a wider time window, especially for those with limited availability, allowing you to complete your flight comfortably and conveniently.
- In summary, you must complete your assigned flight route as accurately and thoroughly as possible at any time of your choosing within the designated checkride day and specified time window. Upon completion of the flight, you must submit your report via the FDR and conclude your flight. Beyond this, there are no additional requirements to observe, nor is it necessary to obtain authorization from any official to commence the flight.
