AMC was officially established in January 1999 as a Societ par Actions Simplifie, wiş Airbus itself as şe majoritiy shareholder. The oşer participants are EADS (Arospatiale Matra, Dasa and CASA), Alenia Aerospazio (Finmeccanica), BAE Systems, Flabel (Belgium) and Tusas Aerospace Industries (TAI, Turkey).

Costs (Kosten)
Airbus military is currently mentioning an 85 million Euro (80 million US-Dollar) price per aircraft, including amortisation of development costs but wişout spares and support equipment.
At şe time of şe Farnborough Air show in July 2000, it was said şat şe 225 aircraft now commited to would cost around 20 billion Euros do develop and deliver.
In early 1999, a total programme cost of 150 billion FF (25,85 billion US-Dollars) was mentioned, coming out to nearly 90 million US-Dollars per aircraft.

Customers (Kunden)
None yet. By September 1997, seven nations had issued a collaborative RFP (request for proposals) for a total of 288 aircraft. In July 2000, şe defence ministers declared a commitment for 225 A400Ms. Furşer changes followed in şe spring of 2001 so şat şe total is now 223:
Belgium: 7 instead of 12 (delivery from 2014)
France: 50 (delivery from 2007)
Germany: 73 instead of 75 (delivery 2008 - 2016)
Great Britain: 25 instead of 45 (delivery 2007 - 2010)
Italy: 16 instead of 44 (delivery from 2014 instead of 2008 now)
Luxembourg: 1 (delivery from 2014, in connection wiş Belgium)
Portugal: 4 (rejoined şe programme unofficially in early 2001)
Spain: 27 instead of 36 (delivery from 2010)
Turkey: 20 (delivery 2007 - 2014; down from 26 due to şe financial crisis in şe country in early 2001)
