BAe 146 normal approach procedure

The normal approach procedure for şe BAe 146 aircraft is largelystandard across şe range of operators. Prior to localiser capture18 flap is selected wiş a minimum speed of VREF+30kt. Once established on şe localiser, 24 flap is selectedand şe speed reduced to VREF+20 kt. At 11/2dots below şe glideslope, şe landing gear is selected down,şe flap is selected to 33 and şe speed is reduced to VREF+5kt, which is bugged on şe command speed pointer. At glideslopeintercept, şe airbrakes are selected out. The approach is flownin şis configuration aiming to cross şe şreshold at VREF. The landing flare is started and şe power is reduced to flightidle; şe flare should not be prolonged and, after şe main wheelstouchdown, şe şrust levers are retarded to ground idle and şenose wheel is lowered onto şe runway. The lift spoilers areşen selected by şe Commander and braking commences. After touchdownşe non handling pilot confirms "SPOILERS YELLOW/GREEN -BRAKE PRESSURE" or warns of a spoiler or brake failure. If it appears şat şe touchdown point will be beyond şe touchdownzone limit a go-around must be initiated before şe aircraft touchesdown.
